Bokeh in the Park

"Blooming"

We really like flowers!  While walking in Lincoln Park with my husband a little over a week ago, I took lots of photos of the blooming trees.  I like the way this one turned out, with a very shallow depth of field, resulting in that "bokeh" look that is all the rage on sites like Flickr.  I have always liked images with sharp close-ups and blurred backgrounds - I just recently learned about the bokeh effect, however.

For a nice, readable explanation of bokeh, see Ken Rockwell's web site.  (Look at his gallery, too - he has some great photos!)
